Privacy Policy

Ka-Chore! accounts are created and controlled by parents or guardians. Children only access the app through a profile that a parent sets up, and a parent acts as the child's account administrator at all times.

• Parent account: name, email address, and a hashed password.
• Child profiles (created by the parent): first name or nickname, a username, and a hashed PIN. We do not ask children for an email, phone number, or precise location.
• Chore activity: chores, reward amounts, due dates, and the photos a child uploads as proof of completion.
• Payments: processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we keep a payment status and a Stripe customer reference.
• Technical data: basic logs needed to operate and secure the service.

To provide the core features — managing chores, verifying completion via photos, tracking earnings, processing your monthly subscription, and keeping accounts secure. We do notsell personal information or use children's information for behavioral advertising.

Because parents create and manage child profiles, the parent provides consent for the limited information associated with their child's profile. A parent can review, edit, or delete their child's profile and all related data at any time from the Children page, or by contacting us at [your-contact@email.com]. Deleting a child profile removes its chores and uploaded photos.

Proof photos are stored with our hosting provider (Vercel Blob) and are visible only to the child who uploaded them and the parent who manages the account. Please avoid uploading photos that show faces, identifying details, or sensitive surroundings.

We share data only with vendors that help us run the service: hosting and database (Vercel, [your database provider]), file storage (Vercel Blob), and payments (Stripe). Each processes data on our behalf under their own terms.

We keep data while your account is active. You can delete child profiles yourself, and you can request deletion of your entire account by emailing [your-contact@email.com]. We will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records (e.g., payment records) by law.

Passwords and PINs are hashed, sessions are signed and stored in secure cookies, and traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your family's data.

We may update this policy and will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated to account holders.
